Dear Parents,
It is a matter of scale. By the standards of ordinary units of kms a fuel run car smaller than a grain of rice is a man made wonder! How this new technology works seems impossible to comprehend for the layman.
However we know an ant is very small in size as compared with a mountain. A mountain is very small as compared to the sun. The sun becomes nonity as compared to the Milky Way. How big is this Earth on this galactic scale? Not even as big as a speck of dust! Yet in this speck we have juggernauts running around, huge buildings with thousands of humans going in and out. The same speck has history of world wars with a lot of firework in there.
If all this is happening in a speck- like Earth, isn’t then this a marvelous example of God’s nano technology!!
About School
Homerton Grammar School is located in Sector 21, Faridabad, one of the eminent locations in Haryana. The school is established with a vision of providing quality education to students. It is an English medium, co-educational school affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The school is dedicated to provide world class educational facilities to the students and offers education from Pre-nursery to Class XII in Science and Commerce streams only.
Homerton was founded in 1983 with the strength of vision of two educationists Mr. Kuldip Singh and Ms. Rajinder Kaur. Post their 10 year stint in U.K. education circles both returned to their home country committing themselves to education development in India. The school had humble beginnings with as few as 18 students but soon gained recognition in Faridabad. Homerton today, is known as the 1st school in Faridabad which had adopted internationally acclaimed methods of teaching.
In 1986 and 1993, Homerton obtained its C.B.S.E affiliation up to class 10th and 12th respectively. Their strong belief in giving understanding based knowledge to students proved instrumental in producing excellent board examination results.
Homerton is built on 5 Acres of land in Sector – 21A. Nestled in the greens, the students today enjoy an ideal setting to aid their learning. The journey is only getting better with each day. The school today boasts of a strong well placed alma mater and a fully equipped state of the art communication, science, music and sports centre for the students.
Infrastructure
Homerton is nestled in 5 Acres of green land with state of the art infrastructure. A student can pursue any of his/her ambition at Homerton. A list of the many facilities which we provide is as follows
Class Room
The Class rooms are spacious, well-lit and designed to be aesthetic as well as functional, with well-designed furniture, and the latest equipment necessary for learning. The classes are facilitated with the concept of smart classes which makes it easy for both teachers and students.
Computer Lab
The School has computer lab which is well equipped. Computer education is provided in all classes’ right from class I onwards. The school has a modern computer lab fully equipped with the latest hardware and software system, fully networked with the internet facility.
Library
Reading should be fun and not a chore. The school has a well stacked library with fiction, fact-files newspaper, magazines and other resource material for the children to read. To inculcate the habit of reading, the students are advised from time to time to go through the age-appropriate books.
Science Laboratories
The school boosts well maintained and fully equipped science laboratories which cater to the needs of the students. These include Biology Lab, Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab and Mathematics Lab. They are places where students can carry out the experiments as per the curriculum that is followed in the school.
Auditorium
An aesthetically designed auditorium with excellent acoustics and comfortable seating facility offers the students with a platform to rehearse and perform a host of co-curricular activities.
Activity Hall
To make teaching more activity oriented, a specially designed and fully equipped Activity Hall has been set up to provide students with the opportunity to get exposed to audio-visual learning, which helps in building up their confidence and shedding stage fear.
Medical Room
In order to provide immediate medical assistance to the students, a well equipped medical room has been established within the school premises. Any ailment noticed among the children during school hours is attended by a qualified nurse. Emergency cases requiring immediate are referred to the nearest hospital. All the students have medical cards where important entries are made after periodical checkups by our in house doctors and nurses.
Drawing & Painting
Colors and drawing give a free and fair expression to pictures in the mind of children. They feel proud and happy while drawing and painting things that they imagine during the Drawing / Painting classes, which forms a part of the curriculum.
Dance & Music
Teaching classical, ethnic and interactive dance forms by trained dance teachers enhances the dancing talent in students. A trained musician teaches music, Indian and western, vocal and instrumental, to bring out the innate talent of our students. A well equipped music room with instruments like Sitar, Tabla, Harmonium, Casio Player, Congo, Bongo, Drum Set, and Guitar is maintained in the school.
Sports
Physical education is emphasized at all levels for no education is complete without giving due importance to physical fitness. Values such as self-control, discipline, courage and perseverance are instilled amongst the children through a wide range of games and sports programs based on their needs and interests.
Cafeteria
A hygienically monitored canteen serves hot and nutritious food in the school premises. However, the children are advised to bring their own fresh and hygienically packed lunch.
Transport Service
The School hosts a well-integrated transport system made available to all categories of students and staff thereby providing connectivity and easy travel, to far flung areas.
